Makeup Breakdown: Deepika Padukone in Cocktail

The upcoming movie Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and debutante Diana Penty seems like it's going to be a ton of fun, seeing the promos and trailer! But honestly one of the things that caught my eye was the makeup/looks of Padukone and Penty; while Deepika maintained a sultry and fun face (matching her character, Veronica, of course), Penty was very fresh-faced and natural, which I loved also! However, for now, I'm going to give you a little breakdown of Deepika's beautiful makeup we can all replicate.

Eyes

 * We're going for a subtly smoky look here, not too dramatic! Kohl-rimmed eyes and eye shadow slightly darker than your skin is ideal. As for the eyebrows, Deeps is blessed with some of the best in B-town, in my opinion, and it really depends on your face shape and contour angles to find the perfect arch and shape for you; don't ever try to blindly copy a celeb's features unless you feel it's best for you!

Shadow: MAC Espresso (muted golden brown) or MAC Handwritten (rich chocolate brown) or MAC Smut (muted black with red shimmer--a favorite of mine)
*Make sure the shadow only stays on your eyelids and doesn't stray anywhere near your eyebrow bone; keep it crisp and clean! Add a slightly lighter color, if you wish, on the inside rims of your eyes tp open them a bit. Under the eyes, use the same darker shade just below the lashes (do not go overboard here; it should be barely noticeable).

Eyeliner: *Any black or dark brown liner you prefer would work, but to avoid looking like a Bharatanatyam dancer (unless this is what you're aiming for, of course!), experiment with softer shades, such as MAC Fluidline Blitz and Glitz, MAC Technakohl Liner Photogravure, or MAC Eye Pencil Coffee

* Try using your eye shadow on a slightly damp applicator for a good liner as well...works pretty nicely;)

Eyebrows: MAC Eyebrows Spiked (rich brunette) or a powder shadow that matches the rest of your palette for this look.

Mascara: This is up to you. My personal favorite has always been Maybelline's Great Lash, as cliche as it may seem, but it really does wonders for your lashes if you apply it correctly and patiently.

Lips

  * Deeps' lips are soft, healthy, and full, first and foremost. Taking care of your smoochies is key and foundation! Color-wise, they are a rather natural shade, keeping the spotlight on the eyes.

Care: Ever since I heard Tyra Banks say she swore by Vaseline, I've joined the same club. The jelly is amazing. Use an old toothbrush to lightly brush your lips and scrape off dry and dead skin, then slather the Vaseline on before bed...the next morning you will have beautiful, kissable lips (yup, the Piggy Chops kind! But I hesitate to say this...we're looking at Deepika Padukone here:p)

Lipstick: A natural mauve/nude is the color scheme we want here. MAC Party Line, MAC Diva, MAC Pro Longwear Lip Creme Til Tomorrow, MAC Pigment Tan are all safe bets for Desi shades.

Lipliner: MAC Cremestick Liner 80% (yes, that's the name of it...80 %) or MAC Lip Pencil Auburn
