Opulent Makeup Breakdowns

Ah, the classic World's Most Beautiful Woman makes a comeback (even though we were stalking her all along). And like the famous Femina cover exclaimed, she's still the best! Here's a makeup tutorial on her latest look in the new Kalyan Jewellers ad. And no joke, give the new mommy a break on her weight and take a look at those luminous eyes;p

Eyes

Mascara: The lashes are where the emphasis is at on the ad. Try some fake ones if you're not as blessed, like MAC's 33 Lash. For a good mascara, in my opinion, use something like Maybelline's Great Lash or Lancome Definicils (pricier).

Liner: The eyeliner seems to be on the dark brown side rather than on the black; use something likeMAC's Powerpoint Eye Pencil: Duck or MAC Fluidline: Rich Ground, depending on your skin shade and predilection for liquid or pencil.

Shadow: Ash's shadow is of a subtle brown that blends with the liner and fades into her skin, so it's definitely not dramatic. I would go with something like MAC Eyeshadow: Concrete here.

Brows: Grooming and definition are key here! Ash's brows are far from scraggly, drawn in; instead, they're thick and natural. If your last waxing/threading gave you hell, try using tweezers to pluck out stray hairs and fill in with a soft pencil, like MAC Eyebrows: Strut.

Lips

*Notice the nude shade of Ash's lips...as well as the smoothness and plumpness;) You've got to take care of those babies. Don't ever leave the house without Chapstick or Carmex, please!

Lipstick: As always, when finding a "nude" shade, it depends on your own color! For darker tones:MAC Naked Paris or MAC Angel. For lighter tones: MAC Behave Yourself or Revlon Matte Pink Pout

LiplinerMAC Cremestick Liner: Pink Treat

The upcoming movie Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and debutante Diana Penty seems like it's going to be a ton of fun, seeing the promos and trailer! But honestly one of the things that caught my eye was the makeup/looks of Padukone and Penty; while Deepika maintained a sultry and fun face (matching her character, Veronica, of course), Penty was very fresh-faced and natural, which I loved also! However, for now, I'm going to give you a little breakdown of Deepika's beautiful makeup we can all replicate.

Eyes

 * We're going for a subtly smoky look here, not too dramatic! Kohl-rimmed eyes and eye shadow slightly darker than your skin is ideal. As for the eyebrows, Deeps is blessed with some of the best in B-town, in my opinion, and it really depends on your face shape and contour angles to find the perfect arch and shape for you; don't ever try to blindly copy a celeb's features unless you feel it's best for you!

ShadowMAC Espresso (muted golden brown) or MAC Handwritten (rich chocolate brown) or MAC Smut (muted black with red shimmer--a favorite of mine)
*Make sure the shadow only stays on your eyelids and doesn't stray anywhere near your eyebrow bone; keep it crisp and clean! Add a slightly lighter color, if you wish, on the inside rims of your eyes tp open them a bit. Under the eyes, use the same darker shade just below the lashes (do not go overboard here; it should be barely noticeable).

Eyeliner: *Any black or dark brown liner you prefer would work, but to avoid looking like a Bharatanatyam dancer (unless this is what you're aiming for, of course!), experiment with softer shades, such as MAC Fluidline Blitz and GlitzMAC Technakohl Liner Photogravure, or MAC Eye Pencil Coffee

Try using your eye shadow on a slightly damp applicator for a good liner as well...works pretty nicely;)

Eyebrows: MAC Eyebrows Spiked (rich brunette) or a powder shadow that matches the rest of your palette for this look.

Mascara: This is up to you. My personal favorite has always been Maybelline's Great Lash, as cliche as it may seem, but it really does wonders for your lashes if you apply it correctly and patiently.

Lips

  * Deeps' lips are soft, healthy, and full, first and foremost. Taking care of your smoochies is key and foundation! Color-wise, they are a rather natural shade, keeping the spotlight on the eyes.

Care: Ever since I heard Tyra Banks say she swore by Vaseline, I've joined the same club. The jelly is amazing. Use an old toothbrush to lightly brush your lips and scrape off dry and dead skin, then slather the Vaseline on before bed...the next morning you will have beautiful, kissable lips (yup, the Piggy Chops kind! But I hesitate to say this...we're looking at Deepika Padukone here:p)

Lipstick: A natural mauve/nude is the color scheme we want here. MAC Party Line, MAC Diva, MAC Pro Longwear Lip Creme Til Tomorrow, MAC Pigment Tan are all safe bets for Desi shades.

Lipliner: MAC Cremestick Liner 80% (yes, that's the name of it...80 %) or MAC Lip Pencil Auburn

Have fun!

Love,
Opulent Madrasi

HOW DID SHE DO IT? Asin looked spectacular at the 2012 Screen Awards…she seems to have lost weight and her lips look fuller than ever and just her overall appearance…breathtaking! She’s really improved over the years in terms of style and makeup and is constantly getting on best-dressed list all the time now! Way to go, Asin.
Now a treat for us… MAKEUP BREAKDOWN: ASIN @ 2012 SCREEN AWARDS
LIPS (the highlight!):
Lipstick: MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme Prolong
Lip Stain: MAC Tinted Lipglass Russian Red
* To create rather rounder, filled lips, you could use a shimmer powder with a tint of the same as your lip color. Also, using a lip brush helps with precision and by focusing on the middle of your lips with it, you can get a great pout.
EYES:
Eyeliner: MAC Fluidline Blitz and Glitz (gel… Asin’s eyes are highlighted with a rather brownish shade more so than black; it’s not quite a smoky eye! Just line the eyes with this liner or a shade similar)
Eyeshadow: MAC Petina or Embark (for a chocolatey shade) but if you prefer a more neutral color, either MAC Arena or Big Bounce Shadow Sizzlin’ Diva works well.
Eyebrows: This depends on the shadow you use, as well as the natural color of your hair. MAC Era may be well-suited to many brown ladies;p
SKIN:
* As you can tell, Asin’s face is glowing and sun-kissed; find a bronzer that goes with your skin tone…and NEVER overdo it!
Blush:MAC Powder Blush Peaches OR Pigment Pink Bronze
HAIR:
*My best suggestion to achieve the luscious curls that seem to cascade on Asin’s shoulder is to use a curling wand. The best include the Chi Orbit (pricier) and the Conair Infinity Wand. Beforehand, work Garnier Fructis Curl Sculpting Creme Gel into hair to prepare; afterwards, flip hair upside down and spritz Loreal Paris Satin Elnett Hairspray Extra Strong Hold, then flip back up and spray lightly over again.
CLEAVAGE:
*Though this may seem trivial or awkward to go through, it’s well worth knowing! Enhancing your cleavage can dramatically bolster poise and confidence in any girl; anyway, it’s totally simple and do-able.
1. Find a fabulous push-up bra that will help you find a shape to follow; to Victoria’s Secret’s WonderBra section!
2. Find a highlighter, light eyeshadow, or concealer stick that you will apply between your breasts lightly, mostly towards the top “V” or your chest.
3. Using a darker shadow, slightly “draw” along the shape of your breasts, making sure it’s gradual and NATURAL looking—your chest is NOT a canvas for harsh artwork— and blend in with the middle so it looks subtle. For ideas on how to do this drawing, take a look at Asin’s chest(again, it’s awkward, but a good reference)!
