Opulent Product Reviews

Product: Dabur Vatika Fairness Face Pack

Uses: Chandan, Milk and other ingredients remove dead cells
Kesar and Mulethi enhance the complexion by altering the melanin formulation.
Haridra extracts and other Ayurvedic herbs give you a blemish-free fair skin

Ingredients:Glycerin, Herbal extracts (detailed list of ingredients presented on tube of product)

My Take:
I picked this up nonchalantly at a store in India, considering the price (Rs.50) and claimed benefits (I am Indian...) I've used this only a couple of times and it leaves the skin feeling supple and fresh; there's honestly no "whitening" as far as I can tell, if that's what you're searching for. Not sure if I'd go for this product again since the results were average but I'll tell you it's safe and good if you want a quick skin softener. Plus, the products are beneficial and natural.
Oh, and the scent...it's strong and tolerable, but some may hate it (sandalwood). Also, when it dries, it can make your face feel warmer and stiff, so check if you can handle that too.
And take note: this product has parabens in it (google the cons of this before purchase, please!!)

When/How I Used it: Like I said earlier, I haven't used it regularly--about once every two weeks-- and haven't seen grand results. All I did is add a teensy drip of water to the paste and slap it onto my face (not literally.) Yay!

Recommended For: normal use face pack; dry, dull skin

My Take:
I found this at a local Indian grocer, alongside numerous other natural facial products by Hesh. It was $1.79, so I thought I'd give it a try, rather skeptical it would result in anything; I've used their Lemon Peel Powder previously, but wasn't to fond of the scent, really. ANYWAY, I gave this a go and on the first trial, I felt my face was immediately softer and brighter. But from past experience, any new product I come in contact with does this. So I decided to keep going with it.

As of now, it's been a week or so using this stuff and I LOVE it! I've received compliments and questions as to what I was using on my skin (shhhh!) and I'm definitely using this in the future.

How/When I Used It: I've been using this everyday for about a week so far, but I would suggest slowing it down after a while just to be safe. On some days I use it before showering, on others, before bed. I'd go with before bed.
And all I do is mix the powder with plain water and apply it to my face as a somewhat thick paste. I let it sit for 15-20 minutes, walking around the house like a monster (it really isn't attractive when it dries), and wash/scrape it off gently, using cold water. Then, I just put a tiny amount of moisturizer/turmeric cream on my face and that's it!

Recommended For: oily/combo skin; acne prone; lightening
